To this day, when I look into the eyes of my own furbabies or your beloved pets, it’s as if we understand each other without saying a single word. In those moments, my whole world simply stops. That childhood connection opened the door to a world of animals, from dogs and cats to rats. They’re our babies, our companions, and such a big part of our world, often the highlight of an ordinary day. When your baby is in my care, they become my baby, too, an extension of my family. There’s a special kind of connection with animals that feels impossible to put into words. One of my favorite parts of caring for animals is discovering what makes each one unique, from their favorite games and little quirks to the ways they ask for attention and what makes them feel safe. I love working with animals on their terms, whether that means teaching new behaviors, reinforcing good habits, discovering what motivates them, or simply learning how they communicate. Connie and I usually play rock-paper-scissors over bookings to see who gets to hang out with a client's pet, and I definitely love winning their affection! Whether a pet needs an energetic walk, active play, or just quiet company, I let them set the pace so they can feel safe and comfortable around me. Once they settle in, I'm happy to give them all the cuddles, pets, and attention they want. Honestly, there's nothing better than that moment when a shy pet decides they trust you enough to come looking for you. It's a special feeling knowing that, in their own way, they've chosen you, too.
